Travel Vaccinations / Advice

If you require advice on travelling to foreign destinations please call into the surgery in good time (at least 6 weeks) where you will need to complete a holiday vaccination form. Once the form has been completed this will be passed to the Practice Nurse who will arrange for you to have the appropriate vaccinations and give general travel advice.

The NHS provides some, but not all, vaccinations for people travelling abroad. Those vaccines which are provided free of charge by the NHS for travel abroad are:

  • Typhoid (to some countries)
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Hepatitis A

Other vaccines are not funded by the NHS for travel abroad; therefore we have to make the following charges:

Hepatitis B – full course (adults) – £123
Hepatitis B – full course (children) – £111
Hepatitis B booster (adults) – £41
Hepatitis B booster (children) – £37
Rabies – full course – £198
Japanese B Encephalitis – full course – £209
ACWY (Meningitis) – £50
Tick-borne Encephalitis – £64

Victoria Medical Centre is not authorised to provide Yellow Fever vaccinations – patients requiring this should book a private appointment at a specialist travel clinic.

Our fees include the cost of the drug including carriage and VAT, a private prescription, practice nurse time and a small administration fee.

Payment is required in advance of administration.
